Entire article is wrong historically[edit]

First of all, virtually all military historians call the Plains campaign the Red River War, not the Comanche Campaign. Secondly, of the 4 battles listed for this "campaign" 3 of them had nothing to do with the Comanche or Kiowa, and not a member of either tribe was present at any of those battles! Agree 100%. The referenced USACMH link isn't accurately framed here at all. The Army awarded campaign streamers in this way to acknowledge the far-flung nature of troop assignments during the Frontier period. Linking this to the Sioux Wars is likewise inaccurate.Intothatdarkness (talk) 16:33, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Ched! I've got some good paper sources on this, too, but in all honesty the main article should likely be broken up and merged with some other stuff we have. The first section really relates to a campaign against the Kiowa, not the Comanche, and the last section properly goes with the Red River War (which was a coordinated campaign against both the Kiowa and Comanche). The current title implies that these operations were all part of one grand, long-term campaign, when in fact they were not. Intothat darkness 20:46, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
