Atrocity allegations

[edit]

Concerning the 22 December 2005 edits, I apologize if User:Orzetto has memories about some bad WWII event, but I feel that the Decima Flottiglia MAS and its actions are worth being described in detail in Wikipedia. I admit that some Decima Flottiglia Mas men who were in German-held territory after Italy changed sides, were used as anti-partisan forces on land (see Italian commando frogmen#1943), but Decima Flottiglia Mas's role as frogmen using manned torpedoes, and the various frogman traditions that have descended from them in many countries, is important. Decima MAS

[edit]

I removed all the material about Decima Flottiglia MAS and World War II, because it belongs to the specific article Decima Flottiglia MAS, while this article should concentrate on the modern commando frogmen. GhePeU 13:46, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Italian Frogmen pre date WW2. They were used in WW1!

[edit]
  • The first use of the Italian human torpedo/transport was agianst the Austro-Hungarian Empire. If I recall the Italian that originated the idea was a doctor. The Italians formed a team and executed their plan flawlessly. They destoryed an Austrian battleship in port similair to WW2 British fleet in Alexandra. To bad the Brits did not know their history.
Italian frogmen men were used to destroy a battleship/dreadnot in an Austrian port similar to the British fleet in Alexadria. Suprizingly the Brits did not know their history. This may be why little is known of Italian frogmen in ww1.
An excellent article on this can be found at http://www.worldwar1.com/sfvu.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.112.215 (talk) 23:32, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
