Error in late-war Combat Command usage[edit]

The article as it currently stands makes the statement that late in the war, armored divisions used their CCR as a resting area for worn-out battalions. This was very much NOT the case with the 7th Armored Division. 7th Armored Division's Combat Command "R" began the war as an under-staffed reserve command. However, in January 1945, CCR became a fully-staffed and fully-equal combat command to CCA and CCB. This change was made based on the experience in prior months of combat. From that point on, CCR was just as active and integral a part of the combat of 7th Armored Division as CCA or CCB -- and was in no way a resting area for worn-out battalions. This was especially the case in the encirclement and reduction of the Ruhr Pocket in March and April 1945. User:7tharmddiv 11:23, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks for the comment. Your point is taken; however, the article uses the word "tended" to imply this was not necessarily a firm practice. Granted the 7th AD did not follow this practice; do you believe this was generally the case for all or most of the late-war armored divisions? I welcome further examples and will gladly edit the article if there are more examples. For the moment, I will insert a footnote mentioning the 7th's operational use of all three commands. Cheers, W. I only have information for 7th Armored Division in this regard. 7tharmddiv 23:50, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Contradiction in the text?[edit]

In the "abbreviations" section is states that Combat Command C was the "older" naming convention, yet in the "History" section it states that Combat Command Reserve came first and Combat Command C was implemented in 1954.

Footnote 2[edit]

The spearhead part uses CCR on both sides of the equation, that seems off. But i am not sure that the second mention (units outpaced by CCR) should really be CCB, so maybe somebody with detailed knowledge of the situation should check it? --84.118.56.218 (talk) 22:50, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
