Legacy: Army Rangers[edit]

I removed the statement on the legacy impact of the Commandos on the Rangers for two reasons. The first is the source, the Osprey books have been known to publish inaccurate information on multiple occasions, specifically regarding the Australian SAS, US Army LRRPs in Vietnam, as well as the British SAS. The second reason was the claim that they affected the creation of the Rangers. This is dubious as the concept of "Rangers" has existed since the early 1700's in the United States, with multiple units still identifying heritage from Roger's Rangers (the original Rangers) of the French & Indian Wars. The fact that one battalion of Rangers was affiliated with the British Commandos does not lead me to believe that they had a definitive impact on the current US Army Rangers, especially considering that five other Ranger battalions existed which were not associated with the Commandos. Further, the Rangers of WWII, like Rangers of the past, were disbanded following the war. New incarnations existed for Korea and Vietnam before the modern Ranger Regiment were formed in the 1980's.
