Hello, I am an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis and I am editing this for a class assignment! The introduction was well written, I just modified the the fourth sentence to make it flow better. The last sentence was intriguing because it makes note of the human importance to the bee. The taxonomy and phylogeny section was also well written; however, I added a sentence regarding the nature of the bumblebees and how the taxonomy relates to this.

For the Distribution and Habitat section, I added a lot of more information that describes the habitat that the species occupies. I added a reference to a website that talks a lot about the habitat. I inserted “Bombus impatiens adapts well to a variety of habitats, nectar sources, and climates and was seen visiting a variety and abundance of plants. It emerges in the spring and is active until early fall. Even though the species does well in agricultural, wetland, and urban conditions, it is also associated with wooded habitats, and is likely related to woodland spring ephemerals. It nests underground in open fields and woods.” I thought the rest of the article was very well written, I made some grammatical changes here and there, but the article summarized the Bombus impatiens very well. Great Job! Junsang.cho (talk) 05:51, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I’m an undergrad at Washington University and am editing this for a class assignment. I added the course banner to the talk page. The additions to this article were well written – there were a few areas that I was not sure what the writer may have meant. In the “Traplining” section, I think readers would benefit from having a more detailed explanation of what ‘circuiting’ or establishing a ‘stable order’ might mean for this bee. Additionally, in the “Parasites” section, the last sentence “However, there is no known harmful to B. impatiens” was unclear. There is no known harmful what to the bee? I’m not sure if you were talking about other viruses, organisms, etc. I don’t know if you are able to find any sources, but it would be great to see a little more detail about the colonies of these bees. I appreciated the section “Importance to humans” as it puts why these species are so important into perspective. Other edits I did included rephrasing of a few words here and there to make the sentence clearer, or italicization of genus names. I enjoyed reading your article and the improvements you made for this species. It also seems like this article has quite a few references – perhaps more information from these sources could be added? The distribution map could also be updated to include the locations in Canada you listed. Overall great job! Chtsai016 (talk) 02:38, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I'm an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis and I am reviewing/editing this article for an assignment. This article was very well-written, but I made a few changes that would benefit the article and hopefully push it to a Good Article status. I added hyperlinks to the article consisting of eusociality, hibernacula, traplining, Apis melifera, Bombus terrestris, and spiroplasmataceae. These were words that I thought the reader would be unfamiliar with and would help them understand the entirety of a few sections in the article. I also thought that the nesting subsection should be a different section on its own so I made it one. I also added a few things to the nesting section that talks about social hierarchy and nest division of labor.Junsang.cho (talk) 23:40, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm an undergraduate student at Washington University editing this article for a class assignment. This article is very well written, but I was able to make various edits to allow the reader to understand and enjoy the article more. I added a couple of clarifying modifiers in the “Reproductive Suppression” subsection under the section “Behavior.” In addition, much of the language was colloquial, so I formalized many of the sentences. Hi, I'm an undergraduate student and I'm editing this page as part of a class assignment. I thought the article was very informative and well-written. Besides minor wording or grammar issues that I fixed, I thought the article flowed nicely and was easy to understand. I learned a lot in the article as well. I would recommend adding more information to the Colony and Reproductive suppression sections if you can find anymore. Overall, I thought it was very good. Hi!

Your article is very good! I had some minor changes to make with regards to grammar, and I added a couple of lines here and there to expand on what you had already written about.

“scientific name comes from the flower Impatiens”
I added a citation to "Impatiens" and changed this to "…comes from the flowers of the genus Impatiens".

You refer to the species as “the B. impatiens” when describing its characteristics and behavior quite a few times. I thought it was more appropriate to just say "B. impatiens" (and drop the "the"), so I changed that wherever I could. For example,

“The B. impatiens are also of the Hymenoptera order” → "B. impatiens is also of the Hymenoptera order"

You mention “Workers have bodies that are 8.5-16 mm”, but is this a measurement of their length, width, or height? I think you should specify that. I also added a couple of lines under the "Behavior" section. It would be great if you could expand some more on the paragraphs under "Behavior" and "Colony", seeing as these are two important topics regarding bee species and their behavior.

All in all, you did a really great job!
