Is this law officially repealed now? Article does not say anything on that.

Presumably it was struck down as given that there are still communist parties in the USA ? 213.40.103.77 (talk) 11:04, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No I have amended the introduction to make that clear, The US supreme court has declined to hear cases (late 60's and 70's) seeking to strike it down and it has never been repealed.98.224.236.117 ([[User talk:98.224.236.117|talk]y ]) 15:56, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You would need a test case to strike it down, and since no administration since then has seriously enforced it no one has had ground to challenge it. It is not effectively the law of the land, and would likely be struck down should any administration try to dust it off.

Incorrectness in the article

"1946-1954"

This is wrong. the second red scare went from 1947-1957. some could even say up to 1959. Also, John Butler was responsible for the act. Humphries provisions were eliminated before going to a final vote —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.114.17.175 (talk) 22:23, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
