Former Neudorf depot

[edit]

The article say this about the former Neudorf depot:

The Neudorf depot, designated UPN, was located at Aristide Briand. It was demolished in 2005–06, to be replaced by the Kibitzenau depot, since it was not able to handle buses.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The current tramway didn't reach Aristide Briand until 2007, and the original tramway closed in 1960. So if Neudorf depot couldn't handle buses, what was it used for between 1960 and 2005?. Replace the word buses by trams, and it becomes an entirely sensible statement, so I cannot help wondering if this is a simple mistake by a previous editor. I've tried cross-checking with the wp:fr version, but it seems to say the same thing (perhaps wp:en just translated a wp:fr error). And the quoted cite seems to be hiding behind some sort of paywall (you need to telephone somebody to get an access code; how very 1990s).

Can anybody help clear this up?. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 13:18, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is obviously "trams", not "buses". This page here documents the rise and fall of the Neudorf depot and makes clear it was only designed for buses. --Edelseider (talk) 15:10, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Strange how I wondered from Barrage Vauban flooding Neudorf in 1870, via pages that link to the redlinked Neudorf (Strasbourg), to Neudorf bus depot. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 15:25, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, the wp:fr doesn't say "it couldn't handle buses" but "it could handle only buses" (qui ne pouvait héberger que des autobus), which is definitely correct! --Edelseider (talk) 15:15, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. I obviously misread that. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 15:25, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
