This article needs to be rewritten because it's tone is inappropriate. The "User dirt" section in particluar is written like a how-to in second-person. MarašmusïneTalk 13:29, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Google search for "computer valeting" turns up an awful lot of links to a company called CompuClean -- which, perhaps not coincidentally, is the name of the originator of this article. Is computer valeting really a notable procedure that belongs in Wikipedia, or is it a new service introduced by this company and written up here in a bid for legitimacy? I would be happy to attempt a rewrite, but only if this is actually a page worth maintaining and not a marketing ploy and candidate for deletion. ShaneCarey 17:53, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I first saw this article, I thought it may have been an advertising attempt, but I know that several other companies have a service called 'computer valet' (PC World (retailer)'s The Tech Guys, for example.) It may be better to incorporate this subject in a larger article on computer servicing in general. Marasmusine 18:22, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Attempted rewrite. As I am not a computer valet, I hope that I did the service justice by reusing the information that was available. I stopped trying to avoid the passive because nothing active sounded encyclopedic to me, so perhaps this rewrite needs a rewrite. It also needs a category -- perhaps I didn't think of the right keywords, but I was unable to find a category or even a page on computer maintenance (and I don't consider myself the right guy to start one, though I'd be happy to help merge this into it at some point). Better; less of a how-to guide. I don't think there is an article on computer maintainance. It's often interesting to start an article on something you know little about, as it forces you to use references, per WP:V policy. May have a crack at it at some point.
