The Clarion Hotel off of Hurstbourne Parkway has closed, and apparently, according to ConCom member Mark K. (aka Ogre), they have no place to host ConGlom in April. The website is also down. I didn't get to find out from Mark if the deposit given to the hotel was lost. Several other questions arise in my mind. I don't feel it's my place to edit the main page & put this info out there while the situation is in flux, but back here maybe it might help someone, and maybe someone who knows more might share that info. It appears that the hotel may be reopening with a new name, "Studio Lodge and Suites". I can't see any way that the concom could, with time this short, manage to stage the 2009 event on schedule even if the hotel were amenable to a deal...and there's no data on the question of the adjoining convention building's status. Update: Although the convention's website domain registration has expired, and there is no publicly accessible source of information for the convention on the Web, the concom is reportedly moving forward with plans to return for 2010 in the same location. The hotel has reopened under the name "Inn Place"; the previously reported name change was apparently not correct. Shirtmonger (talk) 20:55, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
