Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber

[edit]

How is the Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber catigorized in the Condor trilogy, it is not even related to the first two prequels.

mistranslation?

[edit]

I don't think "condor" was a mistranslation. Since the divine condor found in ROCH is a fictional animal. The reason of mistranslation was condor not exist in China. But it cannot withstand, since a fictional animal not exist anywhere. HELLO, WORLD! 08:03, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The "condors" in the first novel are normal eagles. The "divine condor" in the second novel is described as a GIANT "daio" by people that see it. If condor doesn't exist in China in that time, what else do you think they imply? 130.126.39.123 23:45, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
GIANT "diao" does not exist anywhere. It is a fictional animal. It can be an eagle, or can be a condor, or whatever else, since it is fictional. HELLO, WORLD! 15:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So you do agree that the birds in the first novel are eagles.Suredeath 17:02, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a fictitious bird, neither condor nor eagle. If anything the closest English translation would be roc. -- 我♥中國 03:59, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline

[edit]

Since Yang Guo was only born in 1224 (taken from the The Return of the Condor Heroes), contradicting the information in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, I have hence changed the years in the timeline for the first book accordingly, as the information from the second book is relatively more reliable.

The timelines are far too detailed. Should they be copied to a separate article, while we simplify the original ones on this page?
Newfraferz87 (talk) 12:35, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That'll make the article even more bare. Anyway, do you think that this article is really of any significance? "Condor Trilogy" is simply a term which refers to the three novels and doesn't really need an article for itself. We can create a short section about the Condor Trilogy on Jin Yong's page and redirect "Condor Trilogy" there. Then we shift the timelines to the respective novels' pages and nominate this article for deletion. How about that? Lonelydarksky (talk) 13:59, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is also possible. Thanks for the idea. Newfraferz87 (talk) 03:48, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

trilogy details

[edit]

Uh yeah, when this page got started, i added a couple of lines to say what the books are about (what dynasty it begins, what dynasty it ended). Somewhere along the way, it got bloated into full on book summary. I think it should be ok to put the original details back in... All the other book series have some little general info about a series (Wheel of Time, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, Etc.) As long as it doesn't end up as a fully detailed plot.Suredeath (talk) 05:28, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Romanization

[edit]

Why do people insist on omitting tone markings for Chinese romanizations? It's totally silly! I'm going to rework some of this romanization. Angry bee (talk) 20:36, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
