Talk:Conecuh Ridge Whiskey

There are several points of widespread confusion between Clyde May's illegal whiskey and the Conecuh Ridge product. These points are apparently not discouraged by Kenny May, who is sometimes described as "cagey". Perhaps the most important is the actual production of Conecuh Ridge. The fact that it was produced largely according to Bourbon standards with only slight alterations of mash recipe (mainly the use of Alabama spring water) is foremost. It is commonly thought that Conecuh Ridge, like Clydes "Christmas Whiskey" is only aged for one year. In fact, it is clear from the Plainsman article (see references) that Conecuh Ridge is aged four years. Changes to the product that would be made when or if Conecuh builds a distillery in Alabama have yet to be determined. The claim that Alabama's weather would allow a much shorter aging process may never be confirmed. Dystopos 4 July 2005 07:25 (UTC)
