Confederacion Centroamericana y del Caribe de FutbolCCCF – The now defunct football confederation is known primarily by its acronym CCCF, it organised international football tournaments for over 20 years . This article was originally located at CCCF but a Wikipedia Editor moved it to Confederacion Centroamericana y del Caribe de Futbol to create a disambiguation page that links to a lesser known French hacking group at Chaos Computer Club and a Tennessee Prison. CCCFConfederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol – It is absurd to refer to this page by its acronym. Especially with the entity it merged with (NAFC) is not. (See: North American Football Confederation). - Result: Lacks consistency

When a Google search is performed for CCCF, the "Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol" is nowhere near "exclusive". The top 3 point to "Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation", "Chinese Community Center of Flushing", "CCCF April Table Tennis Open - Chinese Community", making another case for a terrible move. - Result: Lacks search strength / exclusivity

Across the board, sports leagues, for example the National Basketball Association (but more commonly the NBA) are referred to by its whole name, with its championships following the acronym (NBA Finals), like this league now has properly.

On the other hand, longer names like "Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football" can be shortened to CONCACAF, because it has exclusivity among searches and its length of name can suggest it without compromise, so it is consistent in that sense as well.

Furthermore, to note that this league is referred mostly by its acronym is a complete fallacy when a proper search is done. See for yourselves CCCF; Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol

Also, if it is going to be written in Spanish, use accent marks, like in Copa América. CCCF can be used as a redirect, like in countless other sports league articles. This page is no different. Contrary to the reason why it was moved prior, CCCF will NOT be used for a French hacking group, nor is it well known by its acronym as explained above. Let's maintain consistency. --Relisted. • Comment what about replacing this page with the disambiguation page, into this location? -- 70.51.203.69 (talk) 05:33, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Reply I somewhat agree. Since, it is a defunct league. See: ABA, AFL. But in that case I would opt for NAFC (disambiguation) to follow suit. In the meantime, let's take care of this move. Savvyjack23 (talk) 15:02, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - appears to be PRIMARYTOPIC on Wikipedia; other 'CCCF's mentioned by OP do not have Wikipedia articles so are irrelevant. GiantSnowman 15:32, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Reply: Actually no, it isn't PRIMARYTOPIC, and there is a "relevant" page, its called the Canadian Child Care Federation, which is the most searched as my findings suggest. In terms of search results, and rank among a list consisting of 50 candidates for the acronym (Acronymfinder: CCCF - 13 verified definitions + Acronymfinder: CCCF - 37 unverified meanings). It has 596,000 search results [1] and is the largest Canadian national service based early learning and child care organization, in comparison to a "defunct" league with only 29,200 [2]. So clearly, there is more than enough room to argue. Furthermore, as I mentioned above, book results show otherwise as well and points to its whole tournament name as being more known than its acronym.
Now, originally this was not a concern of mine (until you had brought it to my attention). What was concerning was a lack of consistency. This case should be no different than the North American Football Confederation, which has NAFC redirecting to it. So, let's do the same here. Savvyjack23 (talk) 23:06, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support renaming this article per nom, and replacing with the disambiguation page per Savvyjack23, who shows that this is not the primary topic, the Canadian topic is if there is one -- 67.70.32.20 (talk) 03:19, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
