• Can we avoid repeating the month in December 25 to December 27, 1918?
• The lead should be expanded so that it covers all aspects of the article

Background

• Source for the first para?
• It may be helpful to add the time period of World War I
• made itself a sufficient publicity Should this not be "made for itself"?
• "newspaper "The Sun"" I think it should be "newspaper The Sun"
• while WWI was not still over You should say "First World War" or any one name consistently throughout the article to refer to WWI.
