conflict of interest (2007)

[edit]

Ron Rogers (916) 746-3123, as he first left his name, appears to be transforming this page into an ad for SureWest. He does not appear to know that POV is not allowed on Wikipedia. While it's not exactly in good taste to edit an article about a company you work for Ron, if you want to edit this article that is perfectly fine. But please stick to simple facts about SureWest. Statements like "fastest," "best," ect are not okay to add to an article. Please also provide independent sources for anything you add to the article. - 67.166.139.181 04:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tsk. Tsk. Not really acting in good faith now are we? There is no reason to have such hostility, I'm sure he just wanted to add to the article. When I first started editing wikipedia I was thinking about writing an article about the company that I work for, until I read WP:notability. Anyways in response to your notion that the article should be deleted (I know you wrote all this like over a year ago, but I want to respond all the same), I think it falls perfectly into the wp:notability standard and thus just needs to be cleaned up, not deleted entirely. Tsk tsk on you killion as we do have guidelines on COI or is it possible you are unaware of this fact?--Maleko Mela (talk) 06:32, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Response to deletion

[edit]

I am the PR Manager for SureWest. Everything I added is factual information that we make public, such as fastest, etc. I have re-posted the information. Please contact me if you would like to make any edits. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ronr22 (talkcontribs) 00:01, 3 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The fact that you are the PR manager for SureWest is exactly why you should not be editing this article. Statements like "is one of the nation's leading integrated communications providers" certainly should not be added by you. And none of your claims are sourced. I will remove them once more. If you wish to add them back, think carefully about your word choice and cite your sources. They should be something other than SureWest PR publications if possible. If you add the statements back without sourcing, I'll seek moderator support for removing this article. - 67.166.139.181 19:24, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, very little of even the sections you didn't add provide any sourcing and none of it is clearly sourced. The only two links listed are the SureWest website and a less than objective sounding article from a local newspaper written about a local company. The entire article needs a rewrite, if not complete removal, and needs another source than the article from Roseville, CA. - 67.166.139.181 19:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fidum

[edit]

It appears "Consolidated" has changed their name to Fidum or appears to be offering services from them when it comes to their home Internet. They previously offered IPTV in many regions, the same way the old school ATT Uverse TV operated. I was a former Citrus Heights native and was one of the first people to adapt to their new technology when it was built along Auburn Blvd. I'll work on fixing this article to improve it but it's difficult enough as it is to find sites for references that are NOT from the company itself. Will continue to look throughout the night and tomorrow. 2601:642:4400:9F00:E5A1:F966:CDB9:3DAE (talk) 04:32, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
