Regarding the current sidebar image from the Barberini psalter

[edit]

Unless my scholarship is out of date, the Barberini psalter dates from the Komnenian era, and most likely depicts Alexios I Komnenos, Eirene Doukaina, and John II Komnenos. I do not find it likely that the picture provided here depicts Constantine X Doukas, especially since the domed crown, as far as I am aware, did not become commonplace until the middle Komnenian era. Looking at Constantine's coins, and later depictions of him, such as the one in the Modena Zonaras manuscript, the flat crown of the Macedonian era is used. I would request a more definitive coin image be used instead. Ambarenya13 (talk) 06:04, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
