Deathcore or death metal?

[edit]

This album isn't really deathcore. Despised Icon didn't start to display this sound until their second album. There is fast tempos, constant pig squeals, and no breakdowns. I feel the genre is more grindcore for this album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.247.226 (talk) 17:17, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can't say a lie; you can be pretty much deemed a troll after every edit I've seen you make to several talk pages for bands and songs/albums... ect.. but this is the first where I've seen you make a reasonable comment for something and for that I can answer it. I somewhat do agree with you, however; deathcore has fast tempos just as well as death metal does. And two; vocals don't exactly determine heavier genre of music (no difference is there was nothing but pig squeels rather than growls; vocals won't warrant what's grindcore and what's death metal) it's the instrumentation that counts. And here, there are a few breakdowns and there are guitar solos (but of which are usually present in deathcore), but ever since this page was created it's said the genre is "deathcore", of what Despised Icon has been sourced and claimed to be. • GunMetal Angel 07:22, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
