Added decade table
[edit]Thought it would be helpful to users to have a decade table similiar to the table presented on the contemporary arts page. I added some schools to it, but it will need more work. Feel free to add to it; I will also return to work on it. Dantedanti (talk) 15:11, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
2000 onwards?
[edit]Surely contemporary lit should not include work from 1999 and earlier, which falls under the category of 20th century literature? A book published in 1951 is now 70 years old and unless unusually prescient probably doesn't reflect contempory concerns.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.85.206.224 (talk) 04:44, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Break it up
[edit]This is not a great article to begin with, I think it is time to stop calling literature written before 2000 "contemporary" when it is nearly a quarter of a century since 1999. It just makes the word meaningless. So the history of 20th century literary movements belongs on the 20th century literature page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 36.11.229.4 (talk) 06:09, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
