Ereignis

[edit]

"Ereignis" means "event," "occurrence," "incident," or "happening." What's with this "Enowning"? It seems to be a neologism that does not designate any concept.Lestrade (talk) 02:37, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Lestrade[reply]

Not any concept you'd encounter outside of Heidegger, sure. Read the book before you take issue with its choices in translation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.28.7.118 (talk) 03:29, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that its important to read the translators notes before you dive into the book, otherwise the depth of meaning in the neologism will be lost on you. Antenarrative (talk) 07:15, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Translation

[edit]

A new translation of this work was recently released with the title Contributions to Philosophy (of the Event). It is regarded by many in the Heideggerian community as far superior to the Emad-Maly translation. We need to retitle this Wikipedia page as "Contributions to Philosophy" with a mention in the article of the full German title and the two different English translations. Then go ahead. ImprovingWiki (talk) 21:26, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How do I go about changing the title heading? I've changed the info in the article but the title still says "Contributions to Philosophy: From Enowning). Hurvashtahumvata888 (talk) 02:44, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No sources

[edit]

This is probably H.'s most difficult book. Unfair to the reader to ask that they accept a "summary" by an anonymous editor who may or may not know what's up.

Without sources, material should be deleted as "OR," although I don't propose to personally do so. There are at least two books and numerous articles that treat the work in some detail. Any Wikipedia article that goes beyond bare publication details needs to be sourced. 2600:1702:39A0:3720:F901:118:52F9:14B8 (talk) 16:49, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
