Transfer to USAAF[edit]

Is it 23 November 1949, as stated in the text, or 26 May 1949, as stated in B-36 in Action, p. 41? ("The XC-99 was officially delivered to Carswell AFB on May 26, 1949, and in September, 1950 transferred to Kelly AFB".Dirk P Broer 08:50, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not an 'X-plane'[edit]

The XC-99 was not an 'X-plane'. X-planes are research vehicles and have the type designation 'X', like the X-1 or X-15. (See X-plane. In the case of the XC-99, the 'X' was a prefix (indicating a prototype) to it's type designation of 'C' (indicating a cargo aircraft). 24.16.181.1 (talk) 05:38, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
