Abandonment of Black River settlement

Footnote 2 appears to be wrong. William Pitts son did NOT lead the British abandonment of the Black River, it was James Lawrie who was then Superintendant of the Black River settlement who supervised the end of British occupation there. Most went to Belize (then called Walis) and Lawrie became the largest slave owner in that settlement. 69.12.223.195 (talk) 23:59, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
