EP or mini-album

[edit]

The group itself have described the release as a mini-album, as have the majority of sources who have discussed the album. As such, we should call it one too, in accordance with our policy regarding citations. If it truly is an EP, please produce some sources stating so, or there is, in my view, no compelling reason to divert from normal procedure, particularly as we have an article explaining the concept in depth for unfamiliar readers. Please discuss, so consensus on this issue can be reached. Stormy clouds (talk) 20:54, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stormy clouds: There are already four citations in the article calling it an EP (Billboard [1] [2], iTunes [3]) and Melon [4]). Another one not cited is Korea JoongAng Daily [5] (a reliable source per WP:KO/RS). I also want to note that all Red Velvet's previous mini albums are called EPs on Wikipedia (e.g. Ice Cream Cake (EP), The Velvet, Russian Roulette (Red Velvet EP) and Rookie (EP)). This is a very common album format in Kpop and as far as I know all the articles are titled as EPs on Wikipedia (except this one currently). Random86 (talk) 02:43, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Random86: - very well. While not enamoured with some of those sources (iTunes isn't great, and one of the Billboard links leads to a 404), there is sufficient evidence to call it an EP. I maintain that both are accurate, but given your wealth of experience in the area, will defer to your judgement on it. Thanks, and apologies for any hassle caused, Stormy clouds (talk) 19:44, 1 August 2018 (UTC).[reply]
