NPOV[edit]

According to a note on IMDB, Beethoven was more thoroughly deaf than the film portrays, and had declined to do public performances for years before composing the Ninth Symphony. -- WillWare 18:15, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Totally Deaf?[edit]

Artistic license[edit]

Lipreading? "It can be argued" - according to whom?

The article says: "It can be argued, however, that he was also able to read people's lips, evidenced by his insistence that people face him when they spoke to him."

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use.
