pronunciation and spelling

first of all, it says nowhere in the article that z. is an abbreviation for zoon "son". I want to change that, but have to think a bit about the best way to word it, since it seems that the abbreviation was so common at the time that it was considered his actual name and not a short form of it. But how was it pronounced? Did people still say zoon or was the last part of the name just /z/ or even silent? Thanks, Soap 14:29, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
