Perhaps. He was on a separate wikipedia page called "List of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute people" as one of their presidents. His name linked to a page with nothing on it. So I started a page. It seemed kind of silly that the wikipedia engine would be generating pages asking for information about an individual, then the wikipedia admins try to delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fabulousdan (talkcontribs) 12:35, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The notability guideline for academics state that if a person meets one of the criteria, he or she is notable. The sixth criteria states "The person has held a major highest-level elected or appointed academic post at an academic institution or major academic society." Therefore, this person is notable.
