It is absurd to consider actual events performed by the church and its leader as "unsubstantiated opinions," or to consider detailing them as "personal attacks." These are actual events, with documented proof. Since Cornerstone Community Church has openly and repeatedly sought to lobby and influence an entire nation, of which notably Christians are a minority, the events should be mentioned to give a complete picture of the church's nature and identity. Wikipedia is not a window dressed publicity platform. It is a record of matters and events.

An impartial history of Cornerstone would not include nearly so much information on the church's stand on homosexuality. Especially when so much of it contains opinion. Please, let's keep this article as impartial as possible and not make it an avenue for vendettas against individuals who hold beliefs that are contrary to yours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HowardTan (talkcontribs) 12:24, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Precisely because it is an impartial history of Cornerstone, it should include events, current and past, that Cornerstone has conducted repeatedly, on a wide scale, and especially of which was specifically targetted at challenging the political positions of the Singaporean government.

All incidences reported are also based on official media from national newspapers, fellow churches, or Cornerstone itself. Not a single opinion, positive or negative, has been written or addressed to this article. Ergo, users such as HowardTan, Searchfortruth2053 (previously known as CameronWalcott), Comeonthink etc should stop insisting reported events to be personal opinions, without understanding what an opinion is defined as. User Hischosenword should especially refrain from derogatory comments and liberal censoring of the article.

Finally, the actions and strategies of Cornerstone on subject matter are openly geared towards criminalizing and condemning individuals with views contrary to theirs. It is ironical and comical that one should state a listing of Cornerstone's actions as a "vendettas against individuals who hold beliefs that are contrary to yours." -- Palladion —Preceding unsigned comment added by Palladion (talkcontribs) 12:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Undue weight tag

[edit]

For some of the reasoning on the undue weight tag, see the original edit summary reasoning. I have trimmed some of the original research out of the article. However, my question is: are these statements by Yang made on behalf of the Cornerstone Community Church? Or in sermons to the church congregation or in his specific capacity as pastor of the church? If not, they should be in a separate article on Yang Tuck Yoong himself. For example, the subsection "Statement regarding Rony Tan" would fall under inclusion to this article (it's a letter to the church congregation), whereas "Statement regarding 2008 Myanmar floods" would not, especially if this latter represents his own personal views that he was publishing in the online Christian portal. However, I am unable to tell if the Myanmar floods example is related to the church, so I'll just leave it as-is for now. SpencerT♦C 23:35, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
