General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

  • Adequate sourcing: No - sufficiently sourced but couple of issues
  • The Guardian source does not support the line about "a magpie named Spike, and a crow named Ziki"
  • It looks like Maureen Beattie also read additional episodes of the book on BBC Radio 4. You should update. Not sure that the length of time read on air is significant though.
  • Neutral: Yes
  • Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: Yes

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - hook is cited on the page - would help to have source listed in the submission
  • Interesting: Yes

QPQ: Unknown
Overall: I think you need a second close quote (") after "rejoice in its meaning". I am a new DYK reviewer and would appreciate a second opinion on my review. Dwkaminski (talk) 18:59, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dwkaminski I fixed the issues, but having the source in the nomination is not an issue and is not a requirement. SL93 (talk) 21:58, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I think just proof of QPQ and should be done. Not sure how to check. When I click on QPQ check it shows your credits for DYK but not QPQ. Dwkaminski (talk) 18:59, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dwkaminski I submitted my proof of QPQ when I created the nomination - " Reviewed: Elizabeth Laurie Rees" SL93 (talk) 15:28, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
