"The messages are designed with noise resistant format and characters, which make it resistant to alteration by noise." - Redundant phrasing is redundant? Or am I missing some small distinction between the meaning of the former and latter parts of the sentence? Metasyntactic D (talk) 02:22, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it was translated from Russian. Kortoso (talk) 16:59, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Confirm target stars CC1, CC2; discrepancy

[edit]

Greetings, I've noticed page four in this document (https://www.plover.com/misc/Dumas-Dutil/messages.pdf -- linked to in this article as the "Dutil-Dumas Message") lists several different star targets for the 1999 and 2003 cosmic calls (Cosmic Call 1 and Cosmic Call 2, respectively) than this source (http://www.cplire.ru/rus/ra&sr/VAK-2004.html) that's cited in this article. I say this taking into consideration the difference between the HD and Hip cataloging. May be worth looking at for someone knowledgeable in this topic.
