2010 dispute[edit]

In order to keep neutral point of view when editing this new section please use reliable and neutral sources (preferably not news outlets from neither CR or Nicaragua) such as the New York Times, The Economist, etc. Local news outlets are good only to reference the position of each government. Since this is an ongoing dispute, the use of RS and keeping NPOV might be enforced strictly. If controversy arises on a particular edit please discuss it and look for consensus here first.-Mariordo (talk) 17:52, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Today I finished adding missing reliable sources in the controversial section, updating key facts trying to keep NPOV. Please feel free to add comments here if you think there is undue weight to any of the parties involve in the conflict, or go ahead and edit the article, but please, add RS.-Mariordo (talk) 06:20, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Terribly One-Sided[edit]

Nicaragua has filed a counter-claim against Costa Rica at the Hague. Why has this not been mentioned? The article is biased in that regard.Mbhskid520 (talk) 01:12, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are right to complaint but the problem is that this section is outdated as no more content added since late November (I tagged as such) and several key facts are missing, including the counter-claim, the results of the OAS meeting in December, the mediation offer by Ecuador's President, etc. Right now my time availability to edit is quite limited as I am on vacation and also juggling to keep up with two ongoing GA reviews, so I won't have time to work on this section probably after mid January. So for the sake of keeping the NPOV please go ahead and add at least the necessary facts from RS to balance the content.--Mariordo (talk) 15:54, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be more than happy to help you out and work with you! Mbhskid520 (talk) 20:55, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Isla Portillos conflict[edit]

Note the following from the Spanish Wikipedia article on Isla Calero (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isla_Calero):

A note of clarification: despite all the information that has been generated from the facts, the conflict is not taking place directly on Isla Calero, with 151.6 km2, but on the Isla Portillos (located to the north of Calero) which is the eighth largest island in Costa Rica, with 16.8 km2 and includes the current National Wildlife Refuge North Border Corridor, according to executive decree No. 23248-MIRENEN of May 18, 1994 . This Isla Portillos has been confused, both by Nicaraguans and Costa Ricans (confusion that, to a certain extent, has been encouraged by the press and the governments of both countries), with the larger Isla Calero.[1] In spite of this, for the purposes of international information, the conflict has transcended as the "Calero Island conflict".

Name of the conflict[edit]

Some articles and now YouTube channels are calling this war "Google maps war" shouldn't a mention of this name be added somewhere?--MaoGo (talk) 16:39, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
