[Untitled][edit]

Why is Charles II, King of Spain and V, Holy Roman Emperor listed here as Charles II? I presume as Charles II, Duke of Burgundy but neither the article on Charles nor the list of dukes of Burgundy in the Burgundy article mentions him as duke of Burgundy? Was he? Rmhermen 15:55, Oct 4, 2003 (UTC)

He's Charles II of Holland (Charles the Bold was Charles I). Apparently, the duchy of Burgundy reverted to the king of France after the death of Mary of Burgundy. (I don't know if that meant that the duchy stopped existing, or that the French king was also the duke of Burgundy.) Eugene van der Pijll 16:24, 4 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Floris or Florence?[edit]

It seems that the counts we call Floris are more commonly known in English as Florence. For example, virtually every work about the Scottish succession struggle in the 1290s names the count who claimed the kingdom Florence, not Floris. I am beginning to think that we ought to rename these articles. Surtsicna (talk) 20:33, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Strip the text?[edit]

The tables are useful but the text is largely a very poor summary of County of Holland. Shouldn't we remove the text here altogether? Marcocapelle (talk) 20:33, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
