What powers do Romanian counties exercise?[edit]

What powers do Romanian counties exercise? Should they be considered equivalent to the Provinces and States of other countries? And should office-holders in the counties be accorded WP:POLITICIAN status? Geo Swan (talk) 05:43, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comitat is not from "comte"[edit]

The Romanian term "comitat" was imported from German which at the time used the Latin word komitatus.

"county" not "jurisdiction"[edit]

Has the system remained largely based on the French one or has it changed several times?[edit]

At WP:Main Page/Errors, someone has pointed out that this appears to be contradictory. I see it's identical in the article. Can someone clarify? Yngvadottir (talk) 13:07, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
