The Butts
[edit]"The Butts" in Old Bull Fields is *not* the same as the modern "Butts Park Arena" which was built in 2004. It is in a completely different area of the city and the similarity in the names is simply a happy coincidence. The "Butts Park Arena" is built by a road called Butts.
I'm removing the link to the Butts Park Arena since whoever did it obviouly made a mistake. Ecadre (talk) 12:49, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Though not usable in Wikipedia, as it's original research WP:OR, accordingto FreeBMD, the births of seven people named J. Tomes were registered in Warwickshire, the county in which Coventry resides, between 1873 and 1895, i.e. coinciding with a circa-1910 playing career, they are; John Tomes (birth registered during October→December 1873 in Rugby district), James Tomes (birth registered during July→September 1875 in Rugby district), Joseph Alfred Tomes (birth registered during October→December 1875 in Rugby district), Joseph Tomes (birth registered during April→June 1879 in Rugby district), John Tomes (birth registered during October→December 1884 in Rugby district), John Tomes (birth registered during January→March 1885 in Rugby district), John Ernest Tomes (birth registered during July→September 1886 in Aston district), are any of these J. Tomes? Best regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 10:24, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- From Mike Latham at Rugby league historians… John "Jack" Tomes (born 1885 in Rugby, and died 1960 in Coventry). Best regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 18:50, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
