History[edit]

Visiting Cowley, I looked to this article for some history of Cowley. The article states "Cowley coalesced from the former villages of Cowley, Temple Cowley and Cowley St John (also occasionally referred to as "Church Cowley")", but gives no information about the early times of these villages. Looking at old maps, I can not find "Cowley St John" or "Church Cowley", but the old Church (850 years old) shown on the second external link is "Cowley St James (not John)" and it is little way outside the village of Cowley. Is this an error? I also note that it warns that the Cowley Road is not Cowley. However it mentions the Cowley Fathers who were based on the Iffley Road not far from the Cowley Road, but not in Cowley. --Bduke (Discussion) 08:48, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
