GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
Prose and grammar are both OK.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
Practically all citations are to CricketArchive or Cricinfo so the referencing is fine.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Covers every major point of her cricketing career. Lacks any biographical information, which is a problem in a biography article but not enough of a problem to fail. I understand there is very little coverage of women's cricket compared to the men's version of the sport.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
There aren't any images, but this isn't a reason to fail.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Definitely comprehensive enough for GA status.

Additional comments

[edit]
  • No "Personal life" section or any biographical info?
  • Women's cricket get's little press coverage; there is simply no information out there (at least not from reliable sources) on her life. It is possible there is stuff in back issues of South African papers, but not that I can find recorded online, and living in England, I certainly don't have access to them. I feel that the article does however 'address the main aspects of the topic' as required by WP:GACR. She isn't notable for her personal life, and while it would be nice to have more information in there (and we might get it during the 2010 ICC Women's World Twenty20, but we might not), I don't think it is particularly necessary?
  • I agree that it isn't enough of a problem to fail the article.
  • It says she was born in Rustenburg in the infobox, but this isn't included in the body of the article.
  • Done: added at start of early life.
  • Are there definitely no images available? If not, it isn't the end of the world.
  • None on flickr, I have a few taken last year of the South Africans, but no good identifiable ones of her at all. Kicking myself over that! If South Africa women tour England with her in the squad again, I'll get one, but until then, I'll have to hope someone else snaps one around the world somewhere!
