Can keepers really wear helmets?

[edit]

I've never seen a keeper wear a helmet at International or one-day level, and I would think it would get in the way. dramatic 01:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC) - it is quite common actually. Particularly when keeping up to the stumps for a spinner who imparts viscious spin on the ball. Here is a picture of Australian gloveman Adam Gilchrist doing so - Cricinfo.
