I used to eat Crispy Critters before they were discontinued in the 1970's (it must have been sometime after 1972 because of where I lived and how old I was). It was my favorite cereal. They didn't taste at all like animal crackers then. They tasted like Honeycombs cereal, except they weren't puffed up like Honeycombs (in fact when you get one of those Honeycomb pieces that misses getting puffed up somehow, they taste almost exactly like Crispy Critters). I don't have any citations to back this up, but I remember them well. I still miss the cereal, and would still eat them if they were available. They weren't re-issued in the area where I live in 1987, so I didn't get a chance to see if they were the same then. Rodrin (talk) 23:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
