Profit percentage[edit]

This quote, one I see repeated on numerous film entries on wikipedia, is highly inaccurate. "At the box office Cry_Wolf grossed $10,047,674 domestically and $5,537,821 foreignly so the worldwide total is $15,585,821 making a $14,585,821 profit of its $1,000,000 budget". Films do not get 100% of the box office. Theatres take a cut, generally very low in the opening week and gradually higher and higher. Typically, Hollywood gets in the 55-65% range of the total box office. This means that when a film takes in its budget at the box office, or even 50% over its budget, it lost money - though DVD sales can often make it a success later on.

It's also hard to say whether Cry Wolf is a box office success based on its take - I'd guess it is, but I'm quite sure the $1,000,000 budget doesn't take into account the cost of the 35MM prints and transportation, and the marketing costs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.188.78.60 (talk) 19:13, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews?[edit]

How about links to reviews, or review scores?

Mafia, the game[edit]

Shouldn't this article link to Mafia_(game)? I was looking for the game and got here...I'm adding a link in a 'See also' section.--Phelan 14:30, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate reality game[edit]

"America Online also helped out publicity for the film, when it created somewhat of a alternate reality game for AIM users to play by instant messaging a certain e-mail address."

Is this game the one mentioned in the phrase above? --Phelan 01:14, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that would have to be it. --Aremith 03:36, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup/expansion requests, etc.[edit]

I am not the one who tagged certain parts of the article as such but looking at it, overall the article could use some overhaul not just the sections where the tags appear. 75.2.39.19 10:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:B000BTIU4S 01 LZZZZZZZ.jpg[edit]

Image:B000BTIU4S 01 LZZZZZZZ.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Needed Deletion[edit]

He died over a stupid practical joke. This clearly shows POV. Therefore, it should be deleted.

Character[edit]

The characters section seems to be redundant. Lots42 (talk) 23:11, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup and Expansion[edit]

This article is poorly sourced and is missing important information on the film's production which needs to be added to the article. Some sections in the article are unsourced or they are missing citations, this needs to be fixed with unsourced material given proper citations. Some sections are underdeveloped and need to be expanded. The Release section, which includes information on the film's box office and critical reception, is way too short and needs to be expanded in more detail with reviews from notable critics added as well as a more detailed report on its box office earnings. The article is also missing important information on the film's production which is completely absent from the article and should be given its own section within the body of the article. All of these changes and additions need to occur in order for this article to meet Wikipiedia's guidelines and standards of a well developed and properly sourced article.--Paleface Jack (talk) 16:24, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
