One page or two[edit]

Long term, this page should probably split to Culham Science Centre. Short term, the CCFE article is more likely to grow IMO. Andrewa (talk) 02:23, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CCFE/UKAEA/United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority[edit]

Note: The UKAEA brand was sold off to Babcock international a couple of years ago as part of the separating of the decommissioning and fusion arms of The Authority. This should be corrected in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.81.223.66 (talk) 10:45, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly what should be corrected in this article? Are you saying that the UKAEA no longer manages the site, or that their headquarters are no longer there? Andrewa (talk) 12:06, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the point being made here is that the UKAEA no longer uses the initialisation, and prefers the full title, but see http://www.uk-atomic-energy.org.uk/about_history.html and particularly http://www.uk-atomic-energy.org.uk/Images/JG08.219-1c.pdf (649 KB) which describe hiving off UKAEA Limited (my emphasis). The UKAEA itself continues to exist and is still commonly known by that title AFAIK, despite the best efforts by administrators who know nothing about physics and contribute as they can (;-> to fusion research while absorbing a large chunk of the budget that would otherwise be spent on physics. STEP[edit]

https://physicsworld.com/a/uk-announces-220m-to-design-a-commercially-viable-fusion-power-plant/ is probably a primary source, but STEP looks likely to already be encyclopedic. Andrewa (talk) 10:49, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.ccfe.ac.uk/news_detail.aspx?id=487 is probably a better source. Andrewa (talk) 11:01, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
