Much older than the early 21st century

[edit]

I found the term in a 19th century source - http://books.google.com/books?id=-kppAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA2&dq=%22culinary+diplomacy%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=TLrSUcOHNpGyhAe_roDACg&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=%22culinary%20diplomacy%22&f=false

As a concept, but not necessarily named by this specific phrase it is practically as old as human social organisation itself - tribal leaders have been inviting their peers from other tribes to feasts since soon after cooking was invented. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 11:37, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One source needs adjustment to wayback version but I can't figure out how to apply the edit myself

[edit]

Source #9 is outdated but I found a working wayback link here: https://web.archive.org/web/20140815013314/http://thediplomatistdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/jis-spring-2013-issue-gastrodiplomacy.pdf

Citation needed on Australia?

[edit]

Introductory paragraph includes a reference to Australia's government having a culinary diplomacy program. While I've found a few unrelated events which have been promoted by the Australian government, I haven't found any mention of an ongoing program. It can be restored if a source can be found. Vacosea (talk) 19:56, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
