Comments about the introduction[edit]

First of all, wow, Colleen! This is a very extensively written on topic already, which I can see being a challenge as there is already such a wealth of information, but, on the other hand, this may prove to be a positive for you as there are likely holes in the page (as you’ve already identified) and the more work allows you to further craft the sections yourself. Of note, you have identified these minor edits that need to be done in saying you want to correct the grammar and missing or confusing information on the page, which I think would really help the page overall as it currently reads like a textbook which must be hard for the general Wiki user. I also think your intent to add sections in child development, perceptions of minorities and immigrants, and new medias will greatly enhance the relatability of the page and the theory. What do you intend to use as sources here? This question also relates to your intention to add sources for missing citations on the page. It would be interesting to add citations that are non-academic (such as YouTube videos, magazine articles, or news media) that addresses these specific applications of the theory. Overall, I think you’re set up for success in editing this dense page.

And I see you've already made edits to the page. I wonder if you could provide some more common media citations to your sections (including some photos or videos?) to help the user understand? Cultivation theory - Colleen! Kudos to you on these major contributions to the research section. This article is already extensive and well organized, so it was definitely a good idea to copy edit and add citations where needed. Excellent contributions to the research portions, each paragraph you added was very relevant and necessary to the overall Cultivation theory. I feel like these examples help us to understand the theory better in real life context. Hi everyone, I'm a student of the CCT program at Georgetown University. I have been assigned to peer review this page for Professor Jeanine Turner's Communication Theory and Frameworks course. Though the page was quite well developed with a clear and organized structure, there are still some parts can be improved:
1. The opening introduction should be revised and come to the point as quickly as possible;
2. The sequence of ”Perceptions of violence" and "Key term in cultivation analysis" can be exchanged for a more logical section transition;
3. “6.1 Mainstream" and "6.2 Resonance" can be combined into one table;
4.“Frequency Learning” should have some supported evidences or citations;
5. Subtitles of "Research Application" should be revised, for example, "Impact on psychosocial health" can be shortened as "Psychosocial health". Meanwhile, there may be some overlap since "music video" may be considered as part of "new media".

Hi, Vivian! This is a super rich theory you have on your hands! All the sections are explained thoroughly with a lot of useful information. And I think your ideas for editing are extremely on point. However, it’s a little overwhelming for me when I first came across the page, to be honest. So following is my advice on improving this page.

First, the opening paragraph. I agree with Veronica that this section should be revised properly. From my part of view, this paragraph should include the essential components of cultivation theory, and also, the overview of this page. You may consider removing the detailed study, just show its significance and cite it. Second, it seems all the paragraphs are not constructed evenly. For example, in research applications, Music videos are quite short in contrast to Sport. So my suggestion would be to balance the page and put more weight on the important parts. Thirdly, I feel like, for some paragraphs in the Research applications, they are just studies piling up without a systematical structure, in other words, connections lack between some studies. Therefore, I suggest to phrase these paragraphs again and make it more smooth to read.

Also, I have two more recommend findings that may help you improve your page.

This research studies the underlying mechanism effects of individuals' ethical beliefs when exposed to TV advertisements. This up-to-date research clearly explains how the influence exerts on the youth by surveys and focus groups. Because existing studies in the cultivation effects on children section only consist of social reality belief and self-esteem, so I think it will be a good source for you to refer to when improving it.

As social media is widely used in our life, this research which studies the privacy attitudes among Facebook users would be a good help when exploring the theory frontier in the application in new media. Mina et al. did longitudinal research and found the socializing role of Facebook in cultivating more relaxed privacy attitudes. They also discussed the long time influence Facebook has on users about privacy attitudes and self-disclosure.

Cleanup: Looks like an essay[edit]

This article would benefit from much trimming; several sections could become sentences, some paragraphs could be a few words. Its history tracks numerous edits addressing copyright violation. Comparing the article with three references/sources using Earwig's Copyvio Detector shows that all three have significant sections of text in common.
