Hello, Wikipedia community -

Full disclosure: I have a COI (see the general COI that I have declared above). As a member of Cummins' external communications group, I would like to ask the Wikipedia community to consider removing the red Cummins logo, which is not an official logo, and changing it back to the black Cummins logo with white text [1]. To be clear, I'm aware of - and I respect - Wikipedia's rules on COI editing. As such, I have no plans on making the change myself, but I appreciate your consideration and help in changing out the logo to the official mark, which will help ensure that this Wikipedia article is up-to-date and accurate.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have and continue the discussion if need be. Thanks for your consideration! - Michael at Cummins (talk) 21:11, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

The red background logo was appeared in the official website https://www.cummins.com/ (the old gif logo was located here File:Logo cummins.gif). The flipped color logo (File:Cummins logo.svg), except it is white/transparent background and red in color, seem exactly the same shape. So, are you just concern on wrong in color? @Benstown: A user had stated your svg logo is wrong, stating a primary source. Instead of red logo and white background, it should be black or white logo with any appropriate background color. The original gif file that had white logo and red background was right. Would you mind to change your svg logo to black and a transparent background Matthew_hk tc 10:56, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

@Matthew hk: Thanks for the quick reply, Matthew. The color is indeed my primary concern. As stated on the Cummins Brand Standards website (referenced as a source in my original comment), the official Cummins logo is black or white. Red logos are not permitted under the current brand standards. Here's a snippet of the official brand guidelines, taken directly from our brand standards website: "The Cummins logo can be black or white. The Cummins logo cannot be red, unless used in a tone-on-tone application. The logo can be reversed out of a color background or photograph, and may be embossed or debossed. When the logo is reversed, the background image shows through the letters, as if the letters are cut out." I hope that adds a bit of clarity! Happy to keep the conversation going if there are still questions. - Michael at Cummins (talk) 16:04, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
@Michael at Cummins: Thanks for pointing me to the proper logo guidelines. Sometimes it's difficult to find these, especially because each company puts it somewhere else. Although the primary logo is the red one, I would prefer to use a black on transparent. If I understood correctly, it should comply with the brand standards. Please confirm, and I'll change it. Thank you. --Ben Stone 05:33, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
@Benstown: That's correct! If you use the black on transparent, it will comply with the Cummins brand standards. Thanks to you and the rest of the Wikipedia community for all of your help! Michael at Cummins (talk) 17:58, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
@Michael at Cummins:  Done Thank you for reaching out, and linking to the proper guidelines. It can be a pain to find those, so you saved me the trouble!--Ben Stone 06:34, 12 October 2018 (UTC)
