Moving and renaming this article[edit]

I am against moving it. Georgia and Azerbaijan's computer interactivity was attacked in 2008. The title is accurate and NPOV, as supported by the NPOV sources from reputable journalists attest. I know that it was claimed that this is a POVFORK in the AfD, but those were bald assertions that were not backed up with reliable sourcing. Considering how this is a disputed article that sme editors are passionate about, please discuss any drastic changes to the article, such as renaming it, on this talk page. There is being bold in Wikiediting and then there is ignoring your fellow editors and shortcircuiting discussion by precipitous edits. --Friejose (talk) 15:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, didn't see the discussion here. It has been moved because the title was NPOV. It needs to include ALL sides, or none at all. Also, the attacks on Azerbaijan websites are arbitrary, they are of minimal importance when compared to attacks on Russian, South Ossetia and Georgian websites. You don't move it back because you want to push a POV of only Georgia and Azerbaijan being attacked. You suggest a better name for it, but it definitely can't be move to 'Cyberattacks against Georgia and Azerbaijan when it includes attacks against South Ossetia and Russian sites. --Russavia ^Dialogue 04:25, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality disputed?[edit]

The article currently carries a tag stating "The neutrality of this article is disputed." Why?

The only issue that was raised on the talk page is the title, but none of the comments arguing against the title "Cyberattacks during the 2008 South Ossetia war" claim that it is not neutral. One comment claims that the previous title, "2008 cyberattacks on Georgia and Azerbaijan", was neutral (it makes no statement regarding the neutrality of the current title) and another asserts that the current title is misleading due to the use of "during". Neither comment seems to present a direct challenge to the neutrality of "Cyberattacks during the 2008 South Ossetia war".

For what it's worth, I think that "2008 cyberattacks on Georgia and Azerbaijan" is not a good title, for three reasons:

It makes no explicit connection between the cyberattacks and the 2008 South Ossetia war, leaving open the door for information about minor cyberattacks that were unrelated to the War.
A cyberattack against an Azerbaijani or Georgian website is not necessarily a cyberattack against Azerbaijan or Georgia, respectively; it depends on the scale of the attack(s) and the nature of the website(s) targeted (e.g. commercial, governmental, non-profit, personal).
This article includes information about cyberattacks against Azerbaijani, Georgian, Russian, and South Ossetian websites; as such, the title should not limit the article's scope to attacks against Azerbaijani or Georgian websites only.
