HISTORY SECTION: overview of cybercrime in Ghana.

“Ranking 7th in a 2008 Internet Crime Survey” (delete; insignificant)

      • Credit card fraud is Ghana’s most popular form of cybercrime; overall growth in cybercrime has warranted a gov’t response. You could expand further on this. Why is it the most popular? What kind of gov't response?

Evidence: “proliferation of cybercrime in Ghana really began in the early 21st century when the ICT sector became liberalized via a 5 year program…led to a 5% point increase in internet users from 2000-2011.”

“Growth in internet usage, along with technological devices made available via e-waste, led to a significant increase in cybercrime due top relative was of access to the web”

In the history section, you could include the socio-econ. Implications within Ghana that influenced increased rates of cyber crimes. What drives an increasingly diversifying market for cybercrime in Ghana?

      • (Using Numbers)Either spell out numbers included in your article or write out the actual number. Can’t flip between the two.

Your history section is very detailed and introduces the topic nicely. You include evidence that aligns with the focus of your topic. Introduces the next sections which you aim to talk about nicely.

NEXT SECTION: Types of Cybercrime

      • Lists various methods of cybercrime

How is Ghana different from other African countries? What is it about the country’s physical and virtual/technological landscape that allows such a prevalence of cybercrime to occur?

SAKAWA:

"...Combination of internet based crime and West African traditionalist religion"

      • You should expand on this Sakawa section. It is interesting to learn about the unique factors that influenced cybercrime in Ghana. Sakawa is an example of how Ghanaian cybercrime differentiates from other forms of cybercrime present around the world.

E-WASTE:

This section seems rather out of place. Expand on this topic and connect it to the broader scope of your article. Connect it to cybercrime and Ghana’s specific part in it. Tie to the question: what does cybercrime in Ghana look like and what does e-waste contribute in conveying this message?

Thoughts: Overall, your article is informative with a great layout/roadmap of sections to expand on. Instead of listing various types of cybercrime, expand on the uniqueness of Ghana's place in cybercrime. Why Ghana? You could do this by expanding further on Sakawa, which was the sub-topic which I found most interesting and after reading, found I was left wanting to read more about. Overall good start. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Noahtalamantes (talkcontribs) 19:00, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
