Actually, this toy has a more specific name... I heard it once but I forgot. I was trying to find the name and I end-up here. --Pinnecco 01:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC) A Japanese company called Daishin created the classic cymbal monkey which screeches and shows his teeth when a button is pressed on his head. They made it during the 1950s and 1960s and called it the Musical Jolly Chimp. Later versions from other toy makers copied the facial expressions but changed the outfit and the name of their product. A more recent reincarnation Japanese made Charley Chimp, was sold on the lower Manhattan streets of NYC in the late 1960s. The toy now manufactured in China based on the 1960s molds was re-introduced for mass sale in 2002 by a website called StreetPeddler.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.165.184.96 (talk) 05:12, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is either the most inane article on wikip or the most pure and essential. If someone AFDs it, I vote keep. If someone wants to feature it, I'll nominate it AFD. 64.111.160.20 (talk) 22:59, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

move to Jolly Chimp[edit]

the article should be called Jolly Chimp, and Cymbal-banging monkey toy should redirect to it instead of the other way around.
