Suicide?[edit]

The page says that his death was accidental overdose but i believe i read it was a suicide. He was found with 9 oxycontin in his body and i believe one still in his mouth. He also had a previous suicide attempt and was supposedly depressed about his return back to drugs. Ill try and find the source where i found this information but it seems more reliable than the source cited now. It contains quotations from his former manager who supposedly went with DJ AMs drug rehab sponsor to his apartment after friends and family had lost contact with him, shortly before his death. If anyone knows anything more that might be helpful in clearing this up that would be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justinbrajko (talkcontribs) 22:56, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

twitter[edit]

Is it worth mentioning his final twitter references his place of death? http://twitter.com/Dj_Am 12.162.122.6 (talk) 20:21, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what wiki policy is on the matter but it seems appropriate to me. Freikorp (talk) 02:59, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What album?[edit]

It's written everywhere that DJ AM scratched on a Madonna album, but what album was it? If someone finds out, please add it to his discography. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.72.225.46 (talk) 13:53, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gone Too Far[edit]

Why not anyone mentioned the MTV show that he helps drugg adicts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.130.169.110 (talk) 20:15, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death date[edit]

His exact death date isn't the 28th of August. It was some time in August, but not exactly the 28th. Sure, he was found dead on the 28th. But, his friends couldn't reach him for a few days before that. Therefore, he didn't die on the 28th. He died a few days before that, but we don't know exactly when. 98.216.203.117 (talk) 02:42, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is a conversation you should have started before you began edit warring over the content. As I stated on your talk page, you need a source for this content. Without a source stating he died before August 28, your claim that he was dead days beforehand is simply your interpretation of what sources say. It's quite possible his friends didn't see him because he was holed up in his apartment. Not talking to friends does not equate being dead for days. Actually, the possibilities are endless which is why Wikipedia requires sources for claims. If you can't provide one, the original content is going to be restored. Pinkadelica 03:23, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if this is the case in America, but in many countries a person isn't legally dead until they are pronounced dead by a medical doctor, which would of happened on the 28th. Freikorp (talk) 11:35, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, so if I were to die on January 24, 2100, but not be found dead until December 18, 2102, I'd still be alive during that time period? That makes no sense. 98.216.203.117 (talk) 03:26, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't say it made sense, I just stated a fact. Freikorp (talk) 03:58, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name?[edit]

Was he born as Adam Goldstein or Goldberg? Also, the name above his pictue says "Adam Goldballs" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.187.245.181 (talk) 21:30, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really a new commercial any more? Maxximillian (talk) 19:52, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Film Appearance: Electric Daisy Carnival Experience[edit]

I don't know how to update graph lists like the filmography section, but DJ AM appeared as himself in an interview for "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience" which was released a few days ago. I doubt the film has a wiki article itself yet, but it's On Demand on most major cable networks. 68.202.196.130 (talk) 05:28, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Links aren't supposed to be opinion-based[edit]

While I agree with the underlying sentiment, I'm de-linking the phrase "tough love" so it doesn't point to the child abuse article, as we're not supposed to link things based on our personal opinions. If someone has info about the place this guy was sent or quotes from him on it, definitely post it in this article (with cites blah blah blah), but just opinion-linking isn't cool. —Xyzzy☥the☥Avatar 02:56, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do this one soon. JAGUAR  23:18, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments[edit]

  • "Barker and Goldstein both survived the 2008 South Carolina Learjet 60 crash, which killed the other four people on board" - to clarify, were they the only survivors?
  • Yes, i've clarified this in the lead. Freikorp (talk) 23:55, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "He appeared as himself in the film Iron Man 2, which was dedicated in his memory after his death" - I feel that this sentence should be placed after the one about his death, but if it doesn't work out then it's fine to leave it
  • Done. I've actually reworded the second paragraph of the lead a fair bit. Freikorp (talk) 23:55, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "He also dated Mandy Moore and Jessica Stam" - any indication to when he dated them? Feel free to ignore this
  • Done. On further inspection the link with Stam appears to be a bit trivial, i'm not sure if I should just remove it but i've left it in for now. Freikorp (talk) 23:55, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "After having played for his friends and at private parties for some time, when he was 21 Goldstein got his first paying job as a DJ at an illegal after-hours club in Los Angeles" - I think this would sound better as After having played for his friends and at private parties for some time, Goldstein got his first paying job as a DJ at an illegal after-hours club in Los Angeles at the age of 21...
  • "and the third season of The Simple Life" - during the third season of The Simple Life, as this sounds he appeared in every episode of that season (unless that's true?)
  • "They were transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia" - I'd link one of these for accessibility
  • The final sentence of tributes section is missing a closing quotation mark

On hold[edit]

Good work on this article! Once all of the above are clarified then this should be ready to meet the GA criteria. Sorry for the delay too JAGUAR  16:35, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jaguar: I've attempted to address everything. Let me know if you have further concerns. Freikorp (talk) 23:55, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for addressing them, Freikorp! This looks like it's good to go now. JAGUAR  14:22, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
