This article is useless as almost all of its information is available on each game's respective page. The small details which are not present should just be added to each game's already-present page. SlickDizzy 03:14, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not useless

[edit]

Well I appriciate the incite, but many other large games have they're main page, like Resident evil and Silent Hill, each have a synopsis of the entire game series provided links to reach to other. Im simply providing the connections between what you have copy and pasted from my log entry to the other games, so that those who come to find out the summary for the series have a quick reference to it.

Kay?

[edit]

That's fair enough, but the information is REDUNDANT. Instead of a small synopsis, you have too much information for each game that could be found on its own page. It also needs serious grammatical help. "On your way to visit family, Laura is watch as the passengers around live"? Come on. I can clean it up and bring it in line with the manual of style but I know you will just revert it again. SlickDizzy 20:43, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't making sense

[edit]

Well if your so picky about it, why don't you change it. Like I'm going to notice a few sentences. THE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE WAS TO PROVIDED A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE, AND GIVE MORE INCITE TO WHAT WAS MISSING IN THE OTHER GAMES DESCRIPTIONS. It was before that each site (D, ENEMY ZERO, D2) had different incites into the game until you made your alterations. If you had not gone and taken what I wrote and copied it over, because what was there before was fine, it would not be redundant. By the way if its so grammatically incorrect, or bad, why did you copy it over to yours instead of writing your own? Nevertheless I'm am currently altering the storylines of the games and descriptions. Please do not copy my new storylines or production notes because then that would make my new game descriptions for D, Enemy Zero and D2 REDUNDANT! Which would mean copying my work would make your newly copyed article qualifications for the AFD (articles for deletion). Although it is not finished it will be soon. ORIGINALS CAN NOT BE REDUNDANT! ONLY COPIES CAN!

Don't be so defensive

[edit]

I did change it. You restored it. I will admit that I minimalized the article excessively before, but still. This article should be a hub to the rest of the series, not "a different perspective". You named the Resident Evil article as an example. Look at the way it's done. Instead of having big plot descriptions and deep development history notes, it is short and to the point. I know I copied your information. I put it where it BELONGED, and cleaned up errors while I was at it. This article is a good idea poorly executed; but it is currently a possible AFD because all of this information isn't supposed to be here. The other articles in the series will never be eligible for AFD; they contain lots of information in and of themselves. Not to mention, you lifted the characters on this page straight from my Enemy Zero page. They're Enemy Zero characters, not recurring characters throughout the entire series. As such, they shouldn't be here. It's little things like that that mean this page needs to be done properly.

I'll cut it as simply as possible. I'm not trying to destroy your baby, you need to get it out of your head that I am. But you need to start formatting pages properly and putting information where it belongs. If your re-writes are any good, I'll copy them to the game pages and re-write this page as a hub, the way it should be. If you revert it again I'm going to request full protection. I'm more than willing to write the article properly. Hell, I'll teach you to do good Wikiformatting and everything, you just need to not get angry when I change something. Later tonight I'm going to move this article to a page called "D (series)" because that's how it should be, and I'm going to set this up as a redirect.

(P.S. - sign your name with four tildes (~) every time you make a comment on a talk page. You're supposed to do it. Just put the tildes and it will create a user/timestamp much like the ones at the end of my comments.)SlickDizzy 18:49, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That would be fine

[edit]

I don't mind if you alter information, copy it to the main page because that is what wikipedia is. The articles copied revision would be AFD qualifications. If you say you don't want to destory it, why say your going to turn it over to the AFD. If you feel that something is incorrcect change it. It was set upon me that when you said you were going to turn it over to the AFD that the entire page was deleted; which it would. I have been considering moving it to D (series) because of its more easy acessability. I can see what your saying about the info. I am adding in info that is about the whole series and its history and the controversy it sparked on the gaming community. Ive added a a small chart that I will edit later on the games scores. I do have the rare released edition to D and I will soon scan the advertisment insert to be posted on this page. D2 Shock will also be added to the article. I also wish to include the tracks on some of the game soundtracks(although they're are only 4 on the original). I can provide the information and you bieng the editor can fix it or move it to wherever. It would be nice if some people can add other info to the hub because I don't know all there is to know about this series and the extensive writing is a pain in the ass.

These articles should stay: D Intro, Series that sparked controversy, Saga of Laura Lewis, Abandon Title -d2 M2, D Database, Characters, Links. As for the games description Im currently in the process of combining it into one long story talkin about the game breifly with production notes added in by sentences. I hope this will give more incite into the games history vs. the story. It will be an extention to the D Controversy Series and will follow the same scheme. It would be nice if some info was left strictly to this article to attract readers. true_505 20:19, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion, 12/2013

[edit]

I just expanded the article with the "D series" related articles I found on the first 3 pages of a search which revealed a surprising amount of subjects. I also collapsed D series (note the lower case "s" on series) into this list and changed that page to a redirect. I hope everyone involved and/or concerned is OK with the changes.
