Lovecraft[edit]
Shouldn't it be noted somewhere that most of the pop culture references are in regards to H.P. Lovecrafts version of Dagon rather than the original semitic god? i.e.: -Terry Pratchett makes several references to Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos so the Dagon reference is most likely in regards of Lovecrafts Dagon. -The "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" is for sure a direct Lovecraft reference. -The "Arkham Horror" series is based on Lovecrafts Mythos as well -The "Chthonic Chronicles" by "Bal-Sagoth" are as well based on Lovecraft instead of the original god. -The movie "Dagon" is based on Lovecraft without any doubt -The "Questionable Content" reference most likely is refering to the Cthulhu Mythos as well, rather than the original god.
Without Lovecraft adapting this god and putting him (heavily modified from the original god) into his writings there woulnd't be nearly as many references to the god "Dagon". 216.64.12.203 (talk) 17:30, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Just wondering if theres any relationship between Dahak from the TV series Hercules: TLJ and Xena to Dagon, seems like Dagon is more Water-elemental based and Dahak is more Fire-elemental based kinda like a Satan/Devil ...
Philip K Dick[edit]
I swear I remember Dagon (as a proto Christian deity) being evoked by Philip K Dick in one of his novels where he himself is the central character. Probably one of the Divine Invasion books, but I am not positive.--72.173.160.58 (talk) 00:36, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
