DB610

I think that we need to split out the DB610 as its own article, which will make the variant section look better as there will no longer be a need to shoehorn all the DB610 data into its entry there. Although, I have to ask @Petebutt: why on earth he thinks that that French website is RS?--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 14:54, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

Dead link/reference under "Survivors"

Hi guys!

Well, you've succeeded in confusing me! Normally, when I find a dead link, I will see if I can find a proper WIKI page and repair the link. Sort of a quick operation that makes me feel like I have accomplished something useful for the world!

I dove-in and started to do this for the "Messerschmitt Foundation". I discovered a couple of useful links/references, but when I went to edit it, I discovered that not only was there a dead link, but that there was also a discontinued "Reference" that appears in the text! This threw me for-a-loop. AND since the two links/references I found are not that conventional, I thought I would throw this back into the laps of those more knowledgeable than I for the actual "fix".

First - there is a WIKI page link to the Foundation, but it is to the German WIKI. That link can be found here:

Second - there is an excellent outside reference, to the Foundation itself with a choice of English or German. That link has a really cool video on the intro page and it can be found here:

The way I would handle this is to alter the text away from: "...EADS/Messerschmitt Foundation...";

to read something more like: "...EADS which did the work in collaboration with the Messerschmitt Foundation..."

You can then throw-in the Reference to the actual Foundation or make a way to the German WIKI link as you prefer.

Finally, I am "kicking" this problem over to you experts because I do not know what the original reference was there to signify? If someone can re-discover the nature of that original reference (perhaps it discussed the actual restoration project?). If the original reference adds light to the process of this surviving engine it might be worth seeing if it can be restored?
