Agreed! If she wrote an autobiography, why is there no link to it? What is her life story? How did she go from lab assistant in a fur factory to her responsible roles of later years? Who is she as a person? --167.218.252.66 (talk) 15:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Check her youtube videos and locals rated her as medium to lower medium which means possibly another little bit controversial politician came in to the pool. But her one recent video of cleaning garbage as a regular citizen looks cool. Orgio89 (talk) 16:33, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I read about the President of Lithuania, but there are lots of untruths about her education. It says “then enrolled in Saint Petersburg State University, then known as Zhdanov University”. There was no Saint Petersburg University under communist Russia. It was Leningrad later named Stalingrad and was called Communist Party University. The University was only for communist part members, which Dalia Grybauskaitė was.

Also the article says, “and she moved to the Vilnius Party High School”. That is wrong, since the correct name was Communist Party High School, in which she lectured communist political economy, so that the students would become communists to destroy and overpower the free nations. In 1990, she was against freedom for all nations that were ocupied by Russia[citation needed].

You write about Saint Petersburg's previous names that "it was Leningrad later named Stalingrad". Stalingrad was a completely different city from Leningrad, and is now called Volgograd. Photo[edit]

It's just my opinion, but the photo looks a bit weird. Grybauskaite is really different from it. I don't have an uploader rights, therefore I can't change it, but, I suppose it would be better to. Please, try someone googling, there are thousands of really good photos without restrictions to move them to wikipedia.

She has a Polish surname[edit]

Nope, no Polish relations. Here's her birth certificate. Both parents are Lithuanians. The surname and its Polish adaptation however are equivalents. --NoTime (talk) 09:05, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Working-class family?[edit]

How could she be working-class while born into the classless society of the USSR? :) Was there working class in the USSR? Proof?

NKVD[edit]

Some other users edited the article by adding the text about Polikarpas Grybauskas' work in the NKVD. The main reason for this is to point to his connection with the mass murder, deportations and the GULAG, Troops of the NKVD for the Protection of the Rear, etc.

In April 1943 the NKVD (criminal militia, fire service and correctional facilities) was separated from the NKGB (political police, intelligence, counter-intelligence, personal protection, confidential communications, border and internal security). In summer 1943 the city fire departments (GPK) were militarized and renamed to VGPK. In 1946 the NKVD of the USSR was renamed as the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), while the NKGB was renamed as the Ministry of State Security (MGB/later KGB).

  • 01.09.1948 - откомандирован в школу милиции МВД ЛССР / was sent to militia school of the MVD of the LSSR.
  • 06.09.1948 - курсант 2-го взвода школы милиции г. Каунас - заявление на отчисление по состоянию здоровья / cadet of the 2nd platoon in Kaunas militia school - application for expulsion for health reasons
  • page 34 - "24.01.1949 - последний из школы милиции дизиртировал" / 24.01.1949 deserted from the militia school.

Polikarpas was 16 years old in 1944 and 18 y.o. in 1946, so he could not serve in the secret services. He also worked as a farm laborer, a railroader in Radviliškis, a police rifleman in Kėdainiai county(uyezd) police (page 64 - rifle №1439) and then as a firefighter. Nothing of this is mentioned. Edits are made by users from Russia, consist only of "worked for NKVD" (not "militiaman", "firefighter", etc.). However, this article is not about Grybauskaite's father and not a list of his jobs.

Alleged BLP issue[edit]

The issue, in my opinion, is WP:DUE, which is particularly acute in a BLP. Particularly, why the story that was brought up by one paper with a history of attacking Grybauskaite and generated zero reaction from reliable sources should be covered in the article?
