Name

[edit]

It should be noted that there are a couple of Scottish folk bands by this name. --MacRusgail (talk) 17:00, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- unsurprisingly, it's a highly significant name in irish/scottish history - are these guys called Dalriada after that or is it independently meaningful in hungarian?

-- In Hungarian, 'dal' means 'song'. The verb 'rí' means something like 'to cry', or 'to call out'. 'Riad' or 'riaszt' means something like 'to scare'. By extension, 'riada' would be a place where this verb takes place. Not that 'riada' is a very common noun in Hungarian, in fact, I've only seen it used in the name of this band. The name of this band, then, means something like 'the place where songs are sung'. ---- Gaeth a wyrd swa hio scel (talk) 17:45, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is Forras really a compilation?

[edit]

They're new recordings of acoustic versions of previous songs (with two new songs), not a collection of previous songs. I'll change it to 'studio' for now, if someone has a better description please add it 121.45.96.113 (talk) 23:40, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
