Still a bit of a mess[edit]

The latest edits have improved this but it's still a bit of a mess. Firstly, the section on 'Notable early DJs' discusses two sound system operators, not djs - we already have an article for Sound system (Jamaican) which is a more appropriate location for this. Secondly, the hip hop section isn't really convincing - was it dance halls that influenced hip hop or sound systems and deejays? The lack of inline citations is also an issue. I have Beth Lesser's Dancehall book which could be a good source, but is it agreed that this article should be specifically about Jamaican 'dance halls', and not overlap too much with the articles on sound systems or the Dancehall genre?--Michig (talk) 15:48, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
